We are always looking for people interested in helping out in the lab and field
We are seeking highly motivated candidates for our EU funded grant Carbo-IMmap. Candidates should have a background in biology or chemistry, ideal candidate should be able to work in team and to move for short research training in leading laboratories abroad (i.e. in USA, Qatar, Germany or China).
Lab Brief Description
Lucia Gemma Delogu is currently head of the laboratory of Bionanotechnology at the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy of the University of Sassari.
The modern laboratory is fully equipped with instruments for biological and clinical studies and for the collection and storage of serum/DNA/cell samples from various tissues and organs. She is currently responsible for about 50m2 furnished lab with 9 work spaces with benches, a cell culture and RNA extraction area; among other instruments, the lab holds a CANTO II flow cytometer. Additionally, an office space of 15 m2 is organized in 6 work stations provided with PCs.
Her group has free access to the University Facility Center, which is a modern inter-departmental structure covering a research floor of over 1000 m2. The center is equipped with cutting edge instruments i.e. Electronic and Confocal Microscopy and Omics Sciences (Metabolomics and Proteomics), Mass Spectrometry and Gas Chromatography. Delogu’s lab can also benefit of animal facilities located at the “Istituto Zooprofilattico della Sardegna” for the use of mice, rats, rabbits and swine as animal models. The animal facilities are fully equipped with imaging equipment (such as for ultrasonography) and rooms for anesthesia and regular experimental procedures.
